How Fun the First Day Is

The First day of March Madness is one of my favorite days of the year. Sitting through classes or work is unbearable once noon hits because you know the first tipoff is about to happen. It's really the only time in the tournament that everyone has a chance because teams are still trying to find themselves at this point. ESPN predicts that this is the most called out sick day of the year for men ages 18-40, the second is the release day of Madden. It should almost be a national holiday because no one pays attention to what they are doing because they are constantly checking scores on their Blackberry or computer. They are constantly reaching into their pockets to pull out their bracket and seeing what scenarios are unfolding and what happens if this team wins and if this one loses. The guy in charge of it all is checking everything scores, brackets and he has to deal with all the morons texting and calling him seeing where they are at. Someone needs to petition that Thursday and Friday of March Madness have to be at least half days if not off days all together. There is no other day in sports like this, and it deserves its respect.
